This place came highly recommended to me and sure did live up to the hype.Saint Louis, MO, Janu-( PR.com)- The 15th location in Decatur, IL is a 7000 sq. What beautiful course just right outside of St. Every part of this place was 5 Star to me. Upon arrival the attendant in the pro shop was extremely helpful and gave me an idea of how to play the course. The driving range keeps in great condition and has accurate yardage markers. The club house is a decent size as well with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is screened in which is nice for the bugs. For the course, I found it to be in fantastic shape, granted it’s early June but the tee boxes were perfect, the sand traps were playable and actually sand. The fairways and rough all great condition and consistent through out the course. And the greens, perfect but people often don’t fix their divot marks here I noticed. The cart paths were all perfect and in great shape, no terrible bumps or collapsed paths. The course however is quite challenging, especially if it’s your first time. But the views and the course layout is very enjoyable. The carts, not too slow which is nice and they come with ball and club cleaners. Finally, the price, wow to play 18 here during the weekday with range balls and course logo ball was only $45. Your really can’t beat this place, hell of a deal. My girlfriend and I trekked here for our Valentine Day date. Day we came, they had taste testing for bourbon from a local distributor. We both sampled a very large amount of the selection. My favorite was the darker chocolate, coconut cake made as a bourbon barrel beer. Simply delicious! My girlfriend loved her blueberry beer. There was a lot to take in, but the management was friendly and on it. Lots of locals and couples just traveling around to try out a new locale. Couple of notes: next door is an eatery called Shorty's Smokehouse. They work in collaboration with the Stubborn German Company. You can get some of their delicious platters and bring them over to the German to eat or vice versa with German's beer. I would recommend to anyone to hit this place and apparently they have a brew fest they do around October. We will be attending that this upcoming fall. Really good vibe from the town and people seem pretty friendly.Īnother great, free gem for our city. Throughout the many floors, you can learn about all things science! There are Hands-On activities and artifacts as well as demonstrations and shows. It's a great place to spend the day with kids of all ages. There are other activities for additional cost such as toddler areas, educational movies and interactive exhibits. The video game exhibit on the bottom floor was a little lacking since there were many things that were out of service.
